Marco Rubio stated that the US policy towards Taiwan remains unchanged after Donald Trump's visit to China.

Marco Rubio, American Secretary of State, declared on Tuesday that the United States' policy towards Taiwan has not changed following President Donald Trump's visit to China. Rubio emphasized the importance of maintaining the status quo and the delicate balance in relations with Taiwan.

Although Trump suggested that he would delay the approval of a $14 billion arms package for Taiwan, Rubio assured that this sale is not canceled and remains under evaluation. He reminded that, last December, the Trump administration approved an $11 billion arms sale to Taiwan, surpassing the total sales during the Biden administration. However, the U.S. has suspended the export of Patriot interceptor missiles to Taiwan due to the depletion of U.S. military stocks.

Rubio had hearings in Congress on Tuesday, discussing the State Department's budget for fiscal year 2027.
