Trent Schneider, 57 years old, was arrested in Chicago and federally charged with making threats after posting a video on social media in which he threatened President Donald Trump with death. Prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois stated that Schneider made explicit references to obtaining weapons and the intention to act, claiming in the video: "I'm going to get some guns... People need to die and people will die. Screw you all, especially you, Trump. You should be executed."

The video was reported to authorities by a user from Florida. Schneider faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison if found guilty, and his next court appearance is scheduled for a detention hearing.
