The Metropolitan Police in London arrested a man on Tuesday, suspected of making death threats against Nigel Farage, the leader of the Reform UK party. The threat was made on social media platform X, where the suspect said: "I will shoot you in the head if you win." This arrest comes amid growing concerns about the security of politicians, heightened by the assassination of former Member of Parliament, Ann Widdecombe, in July.

Farage recently resigned from his position as a Member of Parliament following an investigation related to an undeclared donation, but he intends to run again. Widdecombe's death shocked the British political scene, and the investigation is being led by the anti-terror police, which is examining new evidence. The police have faced criticism for their initial assessment of the case, believing it was not linked to terrorism.
