British police announced on Friday that 28-year-old Joshua Kerry had been charged with actions undertaken to prepare acts of terrorism, including actions that allegedly targeted Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party.
The decision to prosecute was made after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Britain’s prosecution service, analyzed the evidence. Frank Ferguson, a chief prosecutor at the CPS, said prosecutors had worked closely with police to establish whether there was sufficient evidence for the case to be brought before a court.
According to the official, the investigation is still ongoing, and prosecutors will work together with investigators as the inquiry progresses. Authorities have not yet provided further details about the nature of the alleged acts being prepared, when they were supposed to be committed, or how Nigel Farage was allegedly targeted. Kerry is due to answer the charges in court.
