In a telephone call with Aleksandar Vucic, Emmanuel Macron insisted on Serbia's European destiny, in the context of its candidacy to the European Union and its close relations with Russia. Macron expressed the hope that Serbia will make progress on the reforms necessary for accession. He also underlined the importance of stability and respect for the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, criticizing the Bosnian Serb leader's refusal to accept the authority of the international high representative. Vucic rejected these criticisms, warning of the risks of a regional crisis.
