French President Emmanuel Macron stated that France, along with its allies, will intensify pressure on Russia to end the aggression in Ukraine. In a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron signed a historic agreement under which France will deliver 100 Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine. He emphasized that Europeans and Americans are united in the face of Russia and that they are working to counter its phantom fleet, which transports oil while circumventing sanctions. Macron expressed hope that peace will be achieved by 2027 and warned that his successor may adopt an even firmer stance in support of Ukraine. The European Commission estimates that the war could end by the end of next year.
