The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, criticized Facebook for refusing to remove a false video claiming that the army had taken power in Paris, causing panic and confusion. The AI-generated video accumulated nearly 12 million views, and Macron recounted how one of the African leaders contacted him worriedly to ask for explanations.

During a discussion in Marseille, Macron emphasized the significant impact of the post, which he considered a joke. His team contacted Facebook to request the removal of the content, but the platform refused, stating that it did not violate the terms of use. Macron stated that this behavior of social networks endangers democracy and called for stricter regulations to limit misinformation and ensure transparency in content moderation.
