The head of OpenAI described Emmanuel Macron as an “extremely attentive” person when it comes to the development of artificial intelligence and the form this field should take. The statement is relevant in the context of the French president promoting AI security globally, although he will no longer be able to run for office after the end of his second term, in 2027.

Marine Le Pen, the poll favorite, supports deregulation of the sector. Her party also wants to reduce dependence on foreign technology companies and support French firms such as OVH and Mistral. Next month, Macron will host the Paris Peace Forum, dedicated to AI safety and risks to children and adolescents.
