Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, announced the organization of a meeting of Kyiv's allies in Paris at the beginning of January to discuss the security guarantees necessary for Ukraine in the context of a peace agreement with Russia. In a post on X, Macron emphasized the importance of contributions from each country in the Coalition of Will to ensure a just and lasting peace.
The announcement came after Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump met on Sunday to discuss progress in the peace negotiations. Trump expressed optimism regarding a resolution to the conflict, mentioning that "90%" of the American peace plan is approved. In January, new negotiations will take place in Washington to finalize the details of the agreement.
