The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will host the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Paris on Friday to emphasize that the war in the Middle East will not diminish the attention given to Ukraine. This is Zelensky's twelfth visit to France since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022. The Elysee Palace stated that the meeting aims to avoid an "eclipse effect" generated by the conflict in the Middle East, which monopolizes the attention of world leaders.
Macron wants to send a clear message that France's support for Ukraine remains firm, despite other international crises. During the meeting, the two leaders will discuss Ukraine's expertise in facing Iranian drones and will explore collaboration in the joint production of drones. Additionally, Zelensky will participate in a discussion with students from Sciences-Po, continuing to promote international cooperation in the field of defense.
