The Lithuanian Minister of Defense, Robertas Kaunas, stated that officials in the intelligence sector in Lithuania suspect that Russia may use drones captured from Ukraine to carry out provocations in the Baltic region. Kaunas mentioned that these actions could include false flag operations, aimed at creating confusion and causing NATO to hesitate in its support for Ukraine.

Leaders from Poland and the Baltic states have expressed concerns about possible Russian attacks or sabotage, considering that these countries are NATO members and support Ukraine. The Lithuanian President, Gitanas Nauseda, previously indicated that intelligence suggests Russian intentions to attack critical infrastructure, which has led to precautionary measures. In recent months, Ukrainian drones have been diverted towards the airspace of Finland and the Baltic states, and Russia has accused these countries of complicity in attacks against it.
