The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, held discussions in Manila that lasted 37 minutes, according to TASS.

The meeting began at 11:54 local time (03:54 GMT) and ended at 12:31 (04:31 GMT), proceeding according to the established schedule. The two parties' main objective was to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, with Lavrov previously emphasizing that Moscow believes Washington has not abandoned the proposals made in Alaska.

According to diplomatic sources, the American side initiated the meeting, which also included other officials from both delegations. From the Russian side, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko and other officials were present, while from the U.S. side, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker, attended.
