Keith Kellogg, the former special envoy of the USA to Ukraine, had a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv to discuss Ukraine's urgent need for air defense missiles, in the context of the intensification of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Kellogg, who left the position in 2025, emphasized that he will continue to support Ukraine.
Zelensky highlighted the lack of Patriot missiles, describing it as an "absolute priority" for the defense of the country, and expressed Ukraine's willingness to purchase these missiles before a difficult winter.
Recent Russian attacks have resulted in loss of life, including 16 deaths in an attack on a shopping center.
Kellogg's visit took place after a meeting in Odesa, where he assessed the damage caused by Russian attacks on port infrastructure.
Following Zelensky's calls, French President Emmanuel Macron promised to accelerate the delivery of missiles and other military equipment to Ukraine.
Zelensky reiterated that Patriot missiles are essential for the protection of civilians.
