J.D. Vance, the American vice president, stated that President Donald Trump's actions in Iran are not focused on changing the regime in Tehran, but on preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
In an interview with Fox News, Vance emphasized that, although a friendly leadership in Iran would be desirable, the main objective is to ensure that Iran does not build a nuclear bomb, regardless of who is in power. Trump urged Iranians to take control of their government, in the context of recent attacks against Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted that, although a change in leadership could be beneficial, the priority remains to ensure that the new leadership does not have access to dangerous weapons.
