The co-founder of The American Conservative, Scott McConnell, has urged Vice President JD Vance to invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to remove Donald Trump from office, as the war of Americans in the Middle East generates internal tensions in the United States.
Scott McConnell expressed concerns about the unpredictable behavior of the president, in the current context of the conflict in the Middle East.
"Announce that you support a transition through the 25th Amendment. Announce that you will not run in 2028. Use your position and access to the media to explain why this is necessary. Do not resign," the conservative wrote on X.
The 25th Amendment regulates the transfer of power in the event that the president becomes unable to lead, but the removal process is complex and requires a two-thirds majority in Congress.
This situation has sparked intense discussions among conservatives, who fear the impact of Trump's decisions on national stability. Regardless of developments, removal proposals could lead to significant political chaos in the U.S.
