The student was stabbed to death in Shenzhen city and the suspect, a 44-year-old man, has been arrested. The Japanese foreign minister sent condolences and asked China to guarantee the safety of Japanese citizens. He did not comment on whether the attack was intentional. The incident comes more than a year after a Japanese mother and her son were stabbed to death in China.
