Italy is facing an extreme heatwave, and all 27 major cities, from Trieste in the north to Palermo in the south, will be placed under the highest heat alert.

This measure comes as a result of the intensification of the fourth heatwave affecting the country this summer. Local authorities are preparing to manage the effects of the heatwave, which includes health risks, especially for vulnerable individuals.

Meteorologists warn that temperatures will continue to rise, and the population is advised to take precautions, such as avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.
