An Italian recovered 20 gold bars after accidentally throwing them in the trash in Porto Cesareo.

A 57-year-old man from Porto Cesareo, Italy, accidentally threw away a box containing 20 gold bars, worth a total of 120,000 euros, in the trash. The bars had been legally stored for years, but the man confused the metal box with other waste.

After realizing his mistake, he contacted the carabinieri, who initially hesitated to believe him. However, after reviewing the footage from the surveillance cameras, they confirmed the truth of his story. The search was extended to the landfill in Ugento, where, eventually, the box with the bars was found and returned to the owner.
