A owner in Denmark discovered an impressive treasure while building a terrace in his backyard, finding over 18.5 kilograms of silver that is a thousand years old. This discovery is considered the largest known silver treasure from the Viking era, containing approximately 700 objects, including ingots, jewelry, and coins.
Analyses suggest that the treasure dates back to the 10th century, having connections with various regions of Europe and the Islamic world. The objects are organized by weight, indicating a structured system of values. Although it is not known exactly why the treasure was buried, further archaeological research could provide answers. The treasure has been sent to the National Museum of Denmark for evaluation.
