Israeli ambassador Regev described Israel as a 'dream neighbor' for the European Union, stressing that his country does not face migration or LGBT rights issues. He criticized the positions of the Netherlands and Germany, urging them not to give in to the 'self-destructive obsession' over human rights in Gaza. Regev warned that pressure measures on Israel had never worked and called for maintaining trade ties with the EU, stressing Israel's importance to European interests. Despite initially increased support from the EU after the Hamas attacks, he acknowledged that relations had eroded over the course of the conflict.
