The Israeli army has announced the interception of a rocket fired from Yemen amid recent attacks on Houthi infrastructure. Since late 2023, the Houthis have frequently attacked Israel, claiming they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel is at war with Hamas. The rebels have recently claimed attacks on merchant ships in the Red Sea, and the US has accused them of undermining freedom of navigation in the area.
