Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has submitted an official resignation letter to the Office of the Supreme Leader, according to an internal source. Although the information has not been officially confirmed, in the letter sent on Sunday, Pezeshkian reportedly emphasized that both he and the government have been excluded from essential decision-making processes, which has allowed radical factions within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to take control of the country's affairs. The president justified that, under these conditions, he cannot fulfill his legal responsibilities and requested an immediate resignation. It is unclear whether Mojtaba Khamenei will accept the resignation, but the content of the letter suggests a deep rift in the power structures. This resignation comes after months of tensions between the government and military and security institutions, with the IRGC gradually taking significant powers from the president.
