Sedighi Saber's death followed an Israeli attack in northern Tehran, in the context of an Israeli military offensive that began on June 13. It has targeted Iranian nuclear facilities, and recent attacks have killed 430 people in Iran. Although US President Donald Trump has announced a ceasefire, Israel has continued to carry out attacks, causing new casualties. The Israeli government claims it has achieved its objectives in the war, but has warned it will react strongly to any violation of the ceasefire agreement.
