The Iranian Kurdish militias have held discussions with the United States in recent days to explore the possibility of launching attacks against Iranian security forces in the west of the country.
The Kurdish coalition, made up of groups based at the Iran-Iraq border, has trained to weaken the Iranian army, while the US and Israel are conducting bombings on Iranian targets. The aim of these attacks would be to provide support to those opposing the Islamic regime in Iran, following the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials.
Although a final decision regarding the operation has not been made, the Kurdish groups are requesting American military support and are discussing with the CIA about supplying weapons. The CIA's involvement in planning the operation has not been confirmed, and American officials have not commented on the matter.
