Hackers with ties to Iran, known as the Handala Hack Team, have claimed responsibility for breaching the email account of FBI Director Kash Patel, publishing personal photos and documents online. An official from the Department of Justice confirmed the authenticity of the published materials, which include correspondence from the period 2010-2019.
Handala, a group believed to be associated with the Iranian government's cyber intelligence units, recently claimed a cyber attack on the Stryker company in Michigan. Although the FBI did not immediately comment, Patel's email address was identified in previous data breaches, raising questions about the security of personal information of government officials.
