The European Parliament has decided to ban access to Iranian diplomats following the violent repression of protests in Iran, where citizens are calling for the end of a religious dictatorship that has lasted over 50 years. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, announced this measure in a letter addressed to MEPs, emphasizing that the ban will apply in all Parliament buildings in Brussels, Strasbourg, and Luxembourg. Metsola stated that protesters and political prisoners in Iran need more than just solidarity, which is why she decided to ban access to all diplomats, government officials, and representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This story is being updated.
