The President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has threatened a "crushing" response in the event that the United States decides to resume war against Iran. In a statement on social media, Ghalibaf stated that the Iranian armed forces have rebuilt during the ceasefire period since April 8, suggesting that any military action from the US would have far more severe consequences than in the past.

Ghalibaf had a meeting with the chief of the Pakistani army, Asim Munir, where he emphasized the dishonesty of the US in negotiations to end the conflict and reaffirmed that Iran will not make compromises regarding its national rights. Despite mediation efforts from Pakistan, Iran continues to maintain its stock of enriched uranium and military capabilities, while the US acknowledges that additional efforts are needed to reach an agreement. Ghalibaf stated that Iran will pursue its "legitimate rights" both on the battlefield and through diplomacy, but cannot trust the US.
