Negotiations between the two parties are suspended, and the war, which began by the US and Israel in February, is at an impasse. Pezeshkian stated that the whole world recognizes Iran's victory and accused the US of attacks on civilian infrastructure. He also defended a memorandum of understanding signed with the US in June, arguing that it does not represent a capitulation for Tehran.

Criticism has also come from Iranian lawmakers, who accuse the government of making concessions to the US, especially regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. While Iran claims to be strong, the US threatens to intensify sanctions, which Iran considers "economic terrorism." China criticized the US economic plan, emphasizing that sanctions will not resolve the conflict in the Middle East. Pezeshkian and other Iranian officials condemned the American plan, considering it a distraction from the internal crises of the US.
