The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, stated that the country's position regarding the development of nuclear weapons will not change significantly, emphasizing that the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has not yet expressed a public opinion on this matter. Araqchi reminded of the fatwa of the former leader, Ali Khamenei, which prohibits the development of weapons of mass destruction. In the context of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, Araqchi proposed the development of a new protocol to ensure safe passage through this strategic area, essential for energy transport.

Iran has threatened that it will not allow the passage of oil to the USA and Israel, and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament stated that the situation in the strait will not return to normal. Araqchi acknowledged that Iranian attacks in the Gulf affect residential areas, but accused the relocation of American forces near these areas as the main cause. He emphasized that any easing of the conflict is conditioned on compensation for the damages suffered by Iran.
