American Vice President JD Vance stated on Monday, in Switzerland, that Iran has agreed to return to the suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), inviting inspectors to visit the country again. This decision comes after intense 18-hour negotiations aimed at contributing to the resolution of the conflict in the Middle East. Iran had previously suspended IAEA access after the bombings in June 2025, but allowed visits to other sites.

Vance emphasized that this is a major step towards the denuclearization of Iran, expecting inspectors to be present soon. Additionally, the American and Iranian presidents signed a protocol agreement in which Iran commits to dilute enriched uranium in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions. Negotiations will continue to establish methods for uranium dilution, essential for preventing the development of nuclear weapons. The fate of uranium stocks remains, however, uncertain.
