The Iranian regime denied the claims of American President Donald Trump regarding negotiations with the United States, asserting that he has 'backed down' after Tehran's threats.

There are no negotiations between Tehran and Washington, said the Iranian Foreign Ministry, rejecting the statements of American President Donald Trump, reports the semi-official Mehr agency, according to Iran International. The Iranian news agency Fars also specified on Monday, citing sources, that there are no direct or indirect communications with the U.S., according to Reuters. Thus, Iran maintains its position of rejecting any discussions until its objectives are met.

At the same time, Trump warned Iran about possible attacks on energy infrastructure if it does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Although Iran has threatened retaliation, Trump announced that discussions have been constructive and that U.S. officials have held negotiations with representatives from Iran, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan.

Sources in the U.S. suggest that an agreement could be reached soon, despite the contradictory statements.
