Since the beginning of the war with Iran, nearly 90 ships, including tankers, have crossed the Strait of Hormuz, which is essential for global oil transport. Although most maritime traffic has been halted, Iran has managed to export over 16 million barrels of oil, mainly to China. Analyzing maritime data, it was found that many of the ships that passed through the strait were involved in "dark" transactions, evading Western sanctions.

Recently, ships from India and Pakistan have managed to cross the strait after negotiations with Iran. Oil prices have risen by over 40% since the beginning of the conflict, and Iran has threatened that it will not allow oil to pass to the United States and its allies. Although the United States has bombed military sites near Iranian oil infrastructure, it has left the oil export infrastructure intact. This situation suggests that the strait is not completely closed, but selectively allowing Iranian exports and certain non-Iranian movements to be tolerated.
