India has launched the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, an event that will take place until Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the participants, including world leaders, innovators, and researchers from around the globe. The summit aims to highlight India's leadership in the Global South and to shift the axis of technological governance from security to democratization. High-ranking European officials will attend the event, including prime ministers from Finland, Spain, and the Netherlands, as well as leaders from other countries, including those from Asia. Notable CEOs will also be present, such as Sundar Pichai from Google and Bill Gates from Microsoft. The conference will address AI as a social good and a tool for economic growth, taking place in a secure environment, with over 10,000 police agencies mobilized. This is the first time such a summit is being held in an emerging economy, focusing on reducing the digital divide.
