In the wake of Donald Trump's announcements on penalties for oil purchases from Russia, Indian officials have confirmed that there is no change in import policy. Although Trump has said that India will no longer buy Russian oil, Indian government sources emphasized that no instructions have been given to oil companies to reduce imports. Russia remains a major supplier to India, covering about 35% of its oil needs.
