Starting from January 14, citizens from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) will pay 35 euros to visit the Palace of Versailles, up from 32 euros currently, representing an increase of 9.4%. The decision, made on November 27, aims to generate an additional 9.3 million euros annually, considering the estimated number of visitors in 2024. Last year, the Palace attracted 8.4 million visitors, of which 83% were foreign, with Americans being the most numerous. Additionally, the Louvre Museum will raise the ticket price for visitors from outside the EEA to 32 euros, a 45% increase. The Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, stated that these differentiated rates will contribute to the renovation of the national heritage, estimating additional revenues between 20 and 30 million euros annually. This system will also be extended to other popular cultural institutions.
