A significant archaeological discovery has been made in the Czech Republic, where an ancient Celtic settlement dating back 2,200 years was identified during preliminary research for the construction of a highway. The site, which spans 62 acres, has revealed an impressive number of artifacts, including gold and silver coins, jewelry, brooches, bracelets, and glass beads, suggesting that it was an important trading center.

The settlement, located in the Bohemia region, was not fortified, indicating a focus on trade rather than defense. The dating of this site falls within the La Tène period, known for the development of Celtic culture. Although the Boii tribe is associated with this area, no direct evidence of their presence has been found. The settlement is situated on the amber route corridor, an important trade route, and the presence of amber beads suggests that it was a key stop along this path.

Continuing excavations will provide more information about the lives of the people who lived here over two millennia ago.
