Ibiza, known for its beauty, is facing an ecological crisis caused by the invasion of the grass snake, which arrived on the island in the early 2000s. This snake, with no natural predators, has multiplied rapidly and has become a threat to local wildlife, including the endangered wall lizard. Tourists are terrified and some have canceled their vacations because of snake encounters in the water. Authorities are trying to control the situation by trapping snakes, but efforts are insufficient.
