Peter Szijjarto, Hungary's foreign minister, reacted vehemently to the criticisms from European officials regarding Prime Minister Viktor Orban's meeting with leaders in Moscow. In a message on platform X, Szijjarto accused 'pro-war' European politicians of 'frustration' and emphasized that Hungary independently defines its foreign policy without seeking permission from Brussels or other capitals. He stated that Hungary's decisions are based solely on national interest, regardless of the reactions from the European Union. Criticisms of Orban's visit to Moscow came from several European officials, who argue that it undermines the European Union's common position in the context of the conflict in Ukraine.
