The first vessel of a humanitarian flotilla, symbolically named 'Granma 2.0', arrived in Cuba on Tuesday, bringing medical supplies, food, and solar panels. This operation is organized by an international coalition of movements and humanitarian organizations, aimed at supporting the island affected by a severe energy crisis, exacerbated by the oil blockade imposed by the United States.

The fishing vessel Maguro encountered difficulties during its journey, arriving in Havana three days late. Activists marked the arrival with a symbolic action on the roof of the vessel.

The energy crisis in Cuba has intensified, with seven general power outages starting from 2024, and supplies of oil from Venezuela have been suspended. Fuel prices have risen, and public transport is inadequate, leading to the accumulation of waste on the streets.

The arrival of the other two vessels is expected in the coming days.
