A huge sinkhole opened up on a street in Shanghai, near a construction site for a new subway station, swallowing a significant portion of the road and causing damage to surrounding structures. The incident led to the collapse of containers and heavy machinery into the sinkhole. Fortunately, workers in the area managed to escape in time, and so far, no casualties have been reported. The night before, authorities discovered a water leak underground, which led to the area being cordoned off and excavation work being halted to prevent further accidents.
