The incident occurred on June 15, 2025, when the helicopter, which had taken off from Aspropyrgos and landed to pick up four American citizens, was destabilized by gusts of wind and fell into the sea. Authorities quickly activated emergency protocols and rescue personnel responded promptly. The 57-year-old pilot was arrested following the incident.
