Hamas said it had sent a positive response to the mediators on the ceasefire proposal, but stressed the need for further talks to ensure effective implementation. US President Donald Trump has pushed for a 60-day deal, and a Hamas official said the truce could begin next week, contingent on negotiations on the release of prisoners and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
