The Hamas propaganda video, showing a visibly starving Israeli hostage, was released after a visit by US officials to Gaza, where famine is exacerbated by the conflict. The hostage, Evyatar David, appears in a tunnel, ticking off days on a calendar, while the video's message highlights the suffering of Palestinian children. Meanwhile, negotiations to free the hostages have hit obstacles and humanitarian aid is severely restricted by Israel. International criticism targets aid distribution as insufficient and inadequate.
