While they did not reveal the contents of the messages, they suggest they could publish or sell the information. US authorities, including the FBI, condemned the attack as a smear campaign. After a period of inactivity, the hackers resumed their activities after the recent conflicts in the Middle East, announcing that they were preparing a sale of the stolen emails.
