Multiple gunshots were fired in the early hours of Sunday morning at a rave organized at the racetrack in Aarau, Switzerland, triggering a large intervention by law enforcement and emergency services.
The cantonal police in Aarau confirmed that there are multiple victims, but did not provide details about any possible deaths. Vanessa Rumpold, a police spokesperson, mentioned that gunfire was heard near a large group of people. Police crews, ambulances, and firefighters were mobilized to the scene, and the area was cordoned off. Witnesses reported that participants hid under the DJ booth, initially mistaking the sound of gunfire for fireworks.
Although there were reports of possible deaths and attackers, these have not been confirmed by the police.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area and to cooperate with investigators.
The situation remains ongoing, and the casualty count may change as new information becomes available.
