The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, declared on Wednesday that a cap will be imposed on profit margins for fuel prices and supermarket products, as a measure to prevent speculation in the context of rising prices caused by the war in the Middle East. The announcement was made during his monthly meeting with the President of the country, emphasizing that the current economic turmoil should not lead to speculative phenomena. Oil prices have recently increased, and doubts about the effectiveness of the International Energy Agency's plan to release record reserves to offset potential supply shocks have amplified these increases. Before the current crisis, fuel prices in Greece were already significantly higher than in Romania.
