Faced with an acute water shortage, the Greek government has set out a management strategy, with supplies in Attica down 50% on last year. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the importance of modernizing the water system and dismissed speculation that it would be privatized. Plans include prioritizing desalination and recycling technologies, centralized coordination of water projects and an awareness campaign to reduce consumption.
