Greece's Meteorological Service has warned of an extreme heat wave, forecasting temperatures of 43-44 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday. It will affect the whole week, with temperatures of up to 41 degrees in the center of the country and 38-40 degrees in Athens and Thessaloniki. Meteorologists are warning of health risks, especially for people with respiratory or cardiovascular problems, and recommend avoiding outdoor activities at peak hours. Authorities have imposed restrictions in the past due to extreme heat.
