The authorities in Greece have announced a ban on wearing high-heeled shoes at archaeological sites, including the Acropolis, as part of a cultural heritage conservation program. At the same time, restaurant and terrace owners in Thassos are preparing for the opening of the summer season, anticipating a rise in prices due to the increase in food costs. Stelian Muscalu, a tavern owner, mentions that Romanian tourists, who represent a significant part of the clientele, will start coming after June 20, coinciding with the closing of schools. Additionally, tourists traveling by car need to be aware of the higher fines for traffic violations, which can reach several thousand euros. Dan Adrian Drăgan, a representative of Forum Greece, emphasizes that although the fines are higher than in Romania, the police are more tolerant of tourists. Furthermore, the Greek authorities are implementing measures to reduce mass tourism in popular destinations, including restrictions on construction in islands like Rhodes and Santorini.
