A California jury court has ordered Google to pay more than $314 million to Android phone users after it was accused of improperly collecting data without their consent. The plaintiffs, representing about 14 million Californians, alleged that Google collected data even when the phones were inactive, affecting their rate plans. Although Google disputed the injury, saying the data was collected in accordance with the contract, the company has announced it will appeal the court's decision.
